（中央社記者唐佩君台北23日電）外交部今晚表示，新加坡前總統納丹（S R Nathan）不幸辭世，享壽92歲，總統蔡英文已在今天致電哀悼，外交部另已指示駐星代表處轉達政府及人民慰問。
外交部發布新聞稿表示，納丹不幸於2016年8月22日晚辭世，他為優秀的政治領袖，一生關心勞工及弱勢團體，對新加坡社會公益及學術研究多有貢獻，民眾感念其為國奉獻精神及卓越貢獻。
中華民國與新加坡兩國友誼篤睦，對星國失去重要領袖，同感哀悼。
外交部指出，納丹曾任新加坡第6任總統，於星國公部門服務逾60年，在國家安全及外交等領域均曾擔任各項要職，如星國情報局局長、新加坡駐馬來西亞最高專員（High Commissioner to Malaysia）及新加坡駐美國大使等。1050823
